Plein Air On Sapelo

PLEIN ART ON A GEORGIA BARRIER ISLAND

Join us for a Plein air opportunity, on a Georgia barrier island this spring. Whether you do oil, watercolor or pastel, Sapelo Island is the perfect background for your landscape.  Paint the long empty beaches, the dunes covered with sea oats, the tidal creeks lush with Spartina grass, shore birds and other wildlife, and of course, the sea.

April 17-19, 2020 is a perfect time to be on the island. Arriving on the morning ferry you will spend three days and two nights in the historic R. J. Reynolds mansion (of the tobacco family) which has hosted Presidents and rich industrialists of the past.  Your meals will be prepared by local cooks including a low country boil made from seafood taken from local waters.

The cost is $750 which includes ferry transportation, lodging and all meals.  Rooms are double or triple occupancy.  All rooms have a beautiful view of gigantic live oaks.

As we will be renting the entire mansion, we must have a minimum of 16 participants and maximum of 24.  Bring your own painting supplies, easels, and your favorite adult beverages (set ups will be provided).
